On 5/7/25, the City received a legal complaint against the proposed Columbia St high-rise project. The complaint specifically addresses (1) the City allowing the project to continue despite its location on an active fault, in violation of the State Mining and Geology Board Policy; (2) the developer seeking incentives and waivers that are not directly associated with provisioning affordable housing; (3) the Complete Communities municipal code that allows FAR 8x is invalid since it has undefined terms which result in its arbitrary enforcement and is thus unconstitutionally vague; (4) the high-rise project needs to be subject to Discretionary review rather than processed Ministerially without any community review or appeal.  Read the complaint here.
